We at Little Doone are passionate about our Sweet Balsamic Dressings.  Handmade in small batches, the flavours are sweet, and rich, and full of depth.  With our range of dressings, each of the flavours is carefully blended to have just the right balance, whether it’s the subtlety of the Chilli, the light aromas of Lemon Zest, or the robust, deep flavours of Raspberry.  You won’t find any artificial flavours or enhancers, just simple, pure, natural ingredients.

All Little Doone dressings are based on the Original Sweet Balsamic Dressing, which sits between a balsamic vinegar and a reduction, with a beautifully sweet taste and thicker consistency.  Made with raw cane sugar, hints of pure vanilla and natural chocolate extracts, spices, and of course the all important balsamic vinegar, it’s a careful process of blending, of heating and cooling, until the weight and flavour is just right.  This is all done by hand in small batches to guarantee quality and ensure that distinctive taste so loved by our customers. We don’t use oil in our recipe, although every one of the dressings blend beautifully with oil, whether its a deeply complex olive oil, or a subtle rapeseed oil.

The Guild of Fine Foods annual Great Taste Awards represent the benchmark for food lovers, a challenge to find the best foods available. Of the eight Little Doone dressings entered in the Great Taste Awards over the last three years, seven have received Gold awards, an accolade that speaks volumes.

 

About Us

Like many artisan food producers, Little Doone grew out of a love for good food – and a very special recipe.  Several years ago, some kitchen experiments led to a wonderful new taste, the Little Doone Sweet Balsamic Dressing. This dressing was popular with family and friends, with more and more people asking for a wee bottle for themselves. 

Little Doone  was established in the spring of 2007 and has grown rapidly to supply delis, farm shops, garden centres and specialist food suppliers over the length and breadth of Britain, from Orkney to the Channel Islands. 

Based in Ayrshire, an area rich in culture and taste, Little Doone  dressings are also used by some of the finest hotels and restaurants, including Michelin starred.  The Scottish Government selected Little Doone Dressings as an example of fine Scottish produce for Scotland Week celebrations in New York and Canada in the Spring of 2011.
